Oakville Dads Golf tournament recap

It was a rough day on the golf course Sunday at Glen Abbey in Oakville as we arrived, registered, drove, putt, played and conquered the Abbey! It was a gorgeous day on the links at Canada’s most famous golf course.

We had hole-in-one car prizes, silent auctions, group prizes, 5050 contest, longest drives, closest to the pin, driving range and putting green contests. Top that off with an amazing Canadian open dinner at the Banquet Hall!

We had 150 + people involved and included another welcome proclamation from the town crier of Chatham-Kent George Sims, exotic cars courtesy of Lockwood Leasing, JPS fine auto, classic 1920’s car from Andrew Rymes and a new Electric truck from Oak-land Ford Lincoln.

It was the longest day of the year for the group but was also the best day of the year as we raised north of $35,000 for our community partners (Meals on Wheels and Foodbank) and our scholarship fund.

Thanks to our title sponsor Lockwood Kia and Lockwood Leasing, dinner sponsor New Millenium Tire (NMT), Cart sponsors Elevated Home Electronics, Auto IQ and Oak-land Lincoln, Swag bag and shirt sponsors Global Citizen, Drink sponsor Sheddon Physiotherapy, Driving Range sponsor Andrew Rymes at Royal Lepage, Putting Green sponsor Per Homer at Assante Wealth Management, Refreshment stations sponsors Oakville Academy for the Arts and Oakville Boxing Academy, Live Scoring sponsor, Faisal Nasim at Cohen Highley, Top score sponsor Montagio Custom Tailoring, Registration area sponsor 905 tire, and the Golf Balls sponsor 905 bins! Thanks to all 18 of our hole sponsors like Leaps and Bounds Physio, Circle Mortgage and Halton Exteriors!

Our prizes, swag bag and silent auction sponsors were also incredible so big thank you to NMT, Bridge Engraving, Per Homer, Modern Golf, Tracer Golf, Honest Golf, Lakeside Cigars, Canadian Tire Oakville south store, Goldfish Swim School, Paul Silva, Derek Smith, Ken Finch and more. Silent auction was a massive success and next year we’ll do it all online so it will be clean and easy!

Photos from the event can be shared here or on our Facebook group.

Thank you to our volunteers who made the registration process go smoothly: Neil Bunn, Miroslav El, Angelo Esposito, Conor Poutney, Animesh Wadhera, Hutch Morzaria, Mike Sikorski, Euan McGrath, Suraj Sathyanarayan and more.

Lastly thank you to our Admins, who make the group run smoothly with 5,000 guys! To pull off an event of this magnitude takes months of preparation, hundreds of hours of work and planning.

Thank you Per Homer, Jamie Dennison and Andrew Rymes!
