Oakville Dads Inc. is a company incorporated under the Ontario Business Corporations Act.
Proceeds from events and initiatives are donated to the Oakville Community Foundation (theocf.org), our Oakville Dads Community Fund supporting the Oakville Foodbank and Oakville Meals on Wheels (as well as our Oakville Dads scholarship fund). We also use a small portion of those funds to cover our overhead and administration costs. We do not pay our founders or any other staff or person any salary or benefits for the work they do for Oakville Dads. All such work is provided on a “pro bono” basis.
While we do pursue the above noted and other charitable objectives, we are not a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency and therefore cannot issue tax receipts ourselves. Where possible, we will forward funds received for specific purposes to the directed charities who provide tax receipts as appropriate. In certain circumstances, we may be required to charge HST or other applicable taxes for goods and services we provide, such a sponsorships for our annual golf tournament.
