What a day at Glen Abbey Golf course Sept.11th!
124 of your closest golfer friends converged onto the iconic course, host to 30 Canadian Open Golf Championships.
The course did not disappoint and the weather held off for all participants culminating in a delicious dinner at the banquet hall Clublink room – we shared the same chairs and tables as Tiger, Nicklaus, Mickelson, Rory and so many more stars! A massive thank you to our title sponsor Lockwood Kia and Lockwood Leasing for helping make this event our best ever.
The top award of low score (at an incredible -15) and tournament championship trophy went to:
- Jon Sears
- Brandon Moore
- Rich Demille and
- Daryl Tielemans
They won gift cards, swag packs and got to etch their names on the OD golf trophy for all of eternity!
- Longest Drive (New Millenium Tire) went to: Mike John
- Closest to the pin (Goldfish Swim School) : Ryan Rolda
- Closest to the pin 2 (Oakville Sight and Sound): Oscar Arguelles
- Putting contest winner (Sears Accounting): Sandeep Walia
The biggest news of the day was that we raised an incredible $25,600 for the Oakville Dads Community Fund!
That goes to directly support the Foodbank, Meals on Wheels and our Endowment fund – which was established to provide scholarships for kids attending post secondary institutions: which is coming very soon!
In the coming days the Oakville Dads Community fund will be sending cheques to the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank for $10,400 and Oakville Meals on Wheels for $5,200!!!
Thank you to the admin team, volunteers, and most importantly our sponsors for making this so memorable! Thank you to our host Chris Mei, Town Crier George Sims, drone photographer Raj Phull, the staff at Glen Abbey Golf course, our silent auction prize donors & bidders and all of our amazing members!
Get involved next year – as we plan on having scoreboard advertising on the course, electronic scoring and more fun!
